Natural Gas & Pipelines

CNPC is the largest natural gas producer and supplier in China, providing more than 61.9% of China’s gas supply and operating 75.2% of China’s gas pipeline.

We have four gas production bases in China, namely Changqing, Tarim, Sichuan and Qinghai, with a total annual production capacity of more than 100 bcm. In 2019, we newly proved 1,239.9 bcm of natural gas in place, and produced 118.8 bcm.

CNPC is China's largest oil and gas pipeline contractor and operator. We own and operate pipeline networks and storage systems covering 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions as well as Hong Kong SAR in China.

By the end of 2019, we operated pipelines in China totaled 90,352 kilometers, including 20,779 kilometers for crude oil, 55,810 kilometers for natural gas, and 13,762 kilometers for refined products.
